Myla's Sunflower Inspired Newborn Session

Untitled photo

I have known Myla's mom since we were kids ourselves, and I was absolutely thrilled when she contacted me to photograph her new baby. I had previously photographed her older son's newborn session, as well as her maternity session a few years ago, so when she told me she was pregnant with a little girl, I was so excited.

Upon booking her newborn session, I sent a questionnaire for Mom to fill out to let me know what colors and themes she might be interested in. Mom chose grey and sunflowers. When possible, I love incorporating fresh flowers into my newborn sessions, so off to the florist I went to get some sunflowers.

Myla slept so well for her newborn session (I think even better than her brother did 2 years prior) that we were able to achieve every setup I had planned in record time.

Her brother hopped in for a few family photos, and sibling photos, which are included with each newborn session. With a few bribes, mainly lollipops, we were able to get some sweet family and sibling photos for Myla's gallery.

To continue with the sunflower theme, I had previously hand felted a little sunflower, and I was thrilled to finally be able to use it.

To finish off her newborn session, I put Myla in this little gray romper, and a beautiful handmade headband to tie it all together. Grey any yellow were definitely the perfect color choices for Myla's photos. Using different shades of greys and yellows, each image can easily be displayed together, and are still cohesive and gorgeous.
